Meet Sandra Parks, MBA....
Director of The Sandra Parks School of Etiquette

Many of the brightest in business today, have read “How to Win Friends and Influence People”, the best seller by Dale Carnegie, yet most have never cracked open a book on etiquette. Not realizing how simple manners and basic social skills can reflect poorly in today’s competitive business environment, can dim even the brightest of futures. Enter Sandra Parks, MBA, who sees our society’s need for some good old-fashioned manners, and is seeking to attend to it.
By founding The Sandra Parks School of Etiquette, Parks hopes to not only teach those already out competing in the world, but to reach even our executives, entrepreneurs and leaders of tomorrow. With etiquette programs geared to many age groups Parks says, “It’s an awesome feeling to help someone stand out among his or her peers. There has been so much research on the way that proper manners have allowed people to get jobs, as well as maintain them. Using basic manners makes one feel good about him or her self. It also shows a great deal of self respect, and a respect for others. This is especially important in today’s culturally diverse climate.” As the mother of three, a 17 year old daughter and two sons, 15 & 10, Parks especially enjoys working with teens.
Having met people from all walks of life, Parks sees that manners and respect for others have no racial affiliations, ethnic barriers or language translation problems. As a former Sergeant of the United States Army, she has traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and the world. She lived for 2 years in Korea and is still fluent in the language. “The simple acts of saying ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ with a smile, seem to elude many busy parents and professionals now. What once were common courtesies are so uncommon in our fast-track, hectic lives. Today’s young people are growing up with a lack of sense when it comes to dealing effectively with others. They feel they can just send off a text message or email to someone, without realizing that a handwritten note or personal phone call can be much more effective when conducting business or simply socializing.”
After working in “Corporate America” for the last several years, Parks relishes the new challenge and feels she’s ready for it. Passionate about her call to put something back that’s missing in our society today, Parks says, “Knowing that I had a helping hand in seeing someone become successful in his or her endeavors, truly is rewarding.”
